We are short and tall, fat and skinny, introverted and extroverted. We are scattered all over the globe, and we have a common interest that keeps bringing us together. We love fanfic.

Fanfiction is our creative expression of the shows and characters that we love, hate, and love to hate.

The authors penning fanfic are as prismatic and diverse as the multitude of fanfiction they create.

We have recently revamped our Writers Workshop into a stepwise process to help writers build new skills and hone problem areas.

Are you a fic reader?

You don't have to be a writer to get something out of it. If there is a subject you want to discuss or a game you want to play... Go For It! There are little gems spread throughout the workshop that our writers haven't posted anywhere else, so there are also things to read.

Are you someone who wants to write, but needs help with the basics?

The Workshop has been divided into Basic, Ongoing and Advanced subjects and practice sessions to get you ready to write fics. Lots of good information, plus you can get some advice from the other writers and readers here at AO.

Are you already an experienced fic writer?

There is a lot to be gained by practicing skills you identify as your weak areas. Learn to hone your skills and try out some new methods. Taking part in the writing exercises is also a great way to stir a lazy muse into action.
